On June 20th, join us for a lunch briefing on "European Statistics in an International Perspective", with:
Pieter Everaers, Director, Cooperation in the European Statistical System, International Cooperation and Resources, at Eurostat
(statistical office of the European Union)
The briefing will consist in a presentation followed by a Q&A with the audience, and will cover the following issues:
· What are European statistics?
· How do the European Statistical System and Eurostat operate? How do they support evidence-based decision-making at the European Union level
· What's the current quality assurance in European statistics?
· To which extent does Eurostat interact with other institutes worldwide and what's the main differences between the European, the U.S. and other statistical systems?
Reliable and comparable international statistics are needed to support policy-making, monitor the impact of legislation, assess the implementation of policy decisions, guide business strategies, and inform citizens. Join us on Monday, June 20th, to learn more about these issues and make the most out of Eurostat's studies and analyses.
