“Key Global Risks for 2013: From Fiscal Cliff to Grexit”
Description: Heading into 2013, the global economy appears fragile. Significant political and economic risks cast a cloud over the outlook. In the US, the fiscal cliff dominates the policy debate and continues to unsettle markets, while the European crisis shows little sign of ending. Growth risks in Asia and emerging markets also remain a concern and these economies are unlikely to be immune from a downturn elsewhere. In many countries, questions about the effectiveness of non-conventional monetary policy are an additional source of uncertainty. How significant are these risks, could they derail the recovery, and what is the scope of policy to address?
