“The Political Implications of the Euro Area Crisis”
Athanasios Orphanides, Professor of the Practice of Global Economics and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan school of Business, will discuss the economic governance structure of the Euro area and the role of political considerations at the local level (member states) in the decisions taken and mistakes made during the crisis. He will also highlight the persistent difficulties in making headway in resolving the crisis and risks ahead.
